ONLY TWO MORE DAYS LEFT TO VOTE! We look forward to announcing the winners at midnight on October 1!

In order to help us tally finalists’ scores, today we will be deleting any comments that are not pledges. If you are worried that your comment will not suffice as a pledge, feel free to write another. (However, only one pledge per Facebook account will count.)

We’ve been reading some great comments.  Everyone should read them as many give great suggestions on specific creative ways to reuse materials, recycle and defeat trash! However, it would be a big help if the Facebook pledges begin with the phrase “I pledge to…” Thank you.

Muchas gracias.

Everyone get excited! The nine winners and honorable mentions will be notified next week! All judges will also receive an email with the final results.

Soon there after, the winners and honorable mentions will be featured on our website, and online voting will begin July 1st.

The judging for the Students Vs. Trash poster contest will take place from May 7 to May 25. In the meantime, we're going to start to transform this site from one that solicits design entries to one that asks for votes, and also promotes the messages of the posters and collects pledges to reduce waste on campuses across EPA Region 2!

Best of luck to the entrants...and let the judging begin! May the odds be ever in your favor... (OK, maybe this isn't QUITE the Hunger Games!)

Today's the last day to submit posters to the competition. So far they look great! Keep them coming!

Students Vs. Trash has been eagerly awaiting the beginning of the spring semester...now, students are back in action and ready to take on trash. We can't wait to see which colleges and universities in New Jersey, New York and Puerto Rico participate in the contest, and what kind of designs we get in.

Let the contest begin!

As we continue to launch this contest, we want to solicit ideas on what messages students should design into awesome posters and graphics that can be Stumbled, tagged, posted, shared and more!

What do you think? Are bottles driving you crazy? Plastic bags? Pizza boxes? Share your ideas...and let the designs begin!

Thanks for visiting our website and blog! We are stoked to be hosting a poster design contest that will help students defeat trash on their campus, and in their communities. In the next few weeks, we'll be posting all the details you need to know, with a submission deadline of May 1, 2012 - but what better way to spend your winter holiday than cooking up some ideas on how to get people to reduce, reuse, recycle, and stop litter?!
